Local 641 STRIKE Colonial Concrete Company - Failed to reach an agreement

Merchandise Drivers Local No. 641 is the oldest Teamster Local in the State of New Jersey.

Our Charter dates back to October 1, 1903. During its infancy Local 641 was strictly a team drivers local. Over the last century we have diversified into many new areas. We now represent employees from the Freight, Warehouse, Industrial Trades, Building Material and Construction, Tank Haulers, and Municipal and Public Works Departments. In November of 2005, Local 723 of Montville, NJ, merged with this local bringing 1,100 members. Our membership now includes; airport parking, car rental agencies, manufacturing and truck rental and leasing.

We are a proactive local always in search of new members and new areas of representation.

Our goal is to offer our members a level of service and experience of a quality befitting a local that has survived for 100 years. Teamsters Local 641 has gone to great lengths to stay ahead of rising health costs, and a risky market upon which the growth of our pension investments depend. It is due to the diligent work of the plans trustees that Local 641 members enjoy among the best health benefits and pension plans in the country.
