   Merchandise Drivers Local No. 641

 


President:  William (Billy) Cunningham

Billy was an elected Trustee of Local 641 for four years. He also served as Vice President of the Local for one year. Billy was elected President of the Local in 2001 and is presently a member of the N.J.-N.Y. negotiating committee. Billy served as an elected Delegate to the 26th I.B.T. Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was also a member of the G. Sonny Musso Scholarship Fund.  Billy served as shop steward at Yellow Freight Systems for 15 years and has been a Teamster since 1969.  Prior to becoming a Teamster, Billy served his country in Viet Nam with the 1st Marine Division, U.S.M.C.

 


Secretary Treasurer:  Anthony (Tony) Artificio

Tony’s history as a Teamster began in 1967 and includes serving as shop steward at Wooster Express and North Penn Transfer, 10 years as Local 641's Sergeant at Arms, and is a former President of the G. Sonny Musso Scholarship Fund,also former Recording Secretary of Local 641 and was elected Delegate to the 26th I.B.T. convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2001 Tony was elected Secretary Treasurer of the Local and is presently a member of the N.J.-N.Y. negotiating committee. Tony also sits as Vice President on the Executive Board of Joint Council #73.

 


Vice President: Jan Katz

Jan has been a Teamster since 1968 and has many accomplishments to his credit. Among them are serving as Sergeant at Arms and Trustee for Local 641 (5 years). Jan is a former Vice President of the G. Sonny Musso Scholarship Fund and former shop steward at New Penn Motor Express (13 years). Jan was elected Alternate Delegate to the 26th I.B.T. Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was elected Vice President of Local 641 in 2001.
 

 


Recording Secretary: Gary Mills

Gary has been a Teamster since 1979. He has served as Sergeant at Arms, Trustee, and is a former member of the G. Sonny Musso Scholarship Fund. Gary is presently elected shop steward at New Penn Motor Express in Trenton, New Jersey. Gary was elected Recording Secretary of Local 641 in 2001.Gary comes from a family with over 100 years of Teamster experience whom have great loyalty and dedication to Teamsters Local 641.

 

 


Trustee: Dennis Halsey

Dennis has been a Teamster since 1973. During this time he has been employed at Yale Transportation, Gateway Trucking, and Maislin Bros. Transportation. Dennis went to Yellow Freight Systems as a city driver in 1984 where he was elected shop steward at the Elizabeth, New Jersey terminal. Dennis was elected as a Trustee of Local 641 in 2001. Prior to his service as a Teamster Dennis served his country as a decorated Viet Nam war veteran in the United States Army.

 


Trustee: John (Jackie) Dwyer

Jackie has been a Teamster since 1974. He has freight experience as a helper and as a dock man at Time DC Trucking. Jackie also has experience as a rigger for Brennan Brothers. Currently Jackie is employed as a driver/packer operator at Pacific Rail Services (Penn Truck Lines) where he is an elected shop steward. Jackie was elected a Trustee of Local 641 in 2001.

 

 


Trustee: John Humphrey

John has been a Teamster since 1972 working for Byrns Motor Express in Hoboken, New Jersey . Four years later he became a shop steward for Local 560. He held that position with Byrns, Helms, Ryder, and PIE. In 1990 John became a Business Agent with Teamsters Local #723, and was elected to the position of Secretary Treasurer two years later. He was also elected to the position of Trustee for Joint Council #73. He held these positions until the merger with Teamsters Local #641 on November 1, 2005. John is a member of the Policy Committee for the Industrial Trades Division of the IBT. Prior to his Teamster career, John served in the United States Marine Corps with the 9th Marines in the northern areas of Viet Nam.
